Surfacing
by Darlene Schopman - Fine Art Photography
Surfacing is a quiet unveiling—a gentle emergence from an unseen place into light and presence. Capturing these moments through macrophotography, I sought to reveal the subtle rhythms of nature’s quiet pulse—the way life can suddenly come into view, as if awakening from a distant, unknown depth. Surfacing is not just about what appears but the space it emerges from: a place of unfolding mystery and calm revelation. The focus gently softens, allowing textures and shadows to mingle in a dance that draws your eye along the plant’s natural curves, celebrating its fragile grace and organic fluidity.
Creating Surfacing felt like a meditation on patience and attentiveness, honoring the slow, quiet coming-into-being that often goes unnoticed.
